Time Tracking Software: What did you do last year? OfficeTime knows

January 6th, 2009

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – What was your most productive month last year? Which project earned the most? What kinds of tasks did you waste the most time on? OfficeTime’s time tracking software, by Transcena Design, now gives one-click answers to these questions. OfficeTime’s version 1.4 for Mac and PC provides 18 new summaries to their list of intuitive reporting options.

It’s easy to make New Year’s resolutions for your personal life, but an effective resolution for your professional life requires more than just determination. You need knowledge. Few things can be more important for helping you change the way you spend your time than by knowing where your time went. Can you easily answer these questions:

* Which projects earned you the most last month?

* Did you spend more time writing proposals or doing work this week?

* What was your busiest month last year?

* Which day of the week was least productive?

OfficeTime’s latest release allows you to both intuitively track your time and review instant reports of where you’ve been. Eighteen new summary reports can provide one click answers to these questions. Want more specifics? The same report offers expanded line item details for a more in depth look.

Reporting works equally well for solo consultants or team based reporting broken down by employee. Who was your least productive employee last year? Where did John focus his time last quarter?

Tracking your time has historically been troublesome, which is why OfficeTime is specifically designed for busy people who would rather be working than tracking where they spent their time. OfficeTime works flexibly and intuitively helping ensure that proper time tracking is a resolution you don’t have to think about to keep.

Giving back to the community that has enthusiastically embraced OfficeTime, with support and suggestions, a free upgrade to Version 1.4 is available to everyone with a registered previous release.

OfficeTime’s growing community is successfully tracking, invoicing and reporting their time. Find out why global consultants, freelancers and teams choose OfficeTime for tracking their day, their week and even their year. It just works. Intuitively and easily.

Pricing and Availability:
$47 (USD) with a full “120-day No-Hassles, Any-Reason, Money-Back Guarantee.” Customers can feel confident testing this business tool, with its no risk investment. New SMHEART LINK Technology Allows iPhones To Double As Fitness Monitors

January 6th, 2009

Santa Barbara, California – iTMP Technology, a pioneering smartphone hardware and software developer, has introduced SMHEART LINK, a highly-anticipated new technology that is poised to bring unparalleled health and fitness capabilities to Apple(R) iPhone and iPod(R) touch users. iTMP unveiled and demonstrated SMHEART LINK and its iPhone fitness apps at Macworld Expo in San Francisco.

SMHEART LINK is a wireless bridge that enables any iPhone or iPod touch to double as a heart monitor and cycling computer, collecting data generated by distributed fitness sensors such as heart rate chest straps and cycling sensors on bikes and sending it to the iPhone for easy display and tracking.

In the past two months iTMP has unveiled three demo iPhone fitness applications that currently run in simulation. Their pending upgrades, which will be demonstrated live at Macworld and coming soon to the iPhone App Store, will be the only apps, among hundreds of other iPhone health and fitness apps, that actually listen to a person’s heart to track and display their unique vital fitness metrics:

* iSPINNING is a cardio fitness system and cycling computer that enables Spinning(R) enthusiasts around the world to track and record their cardio exercise anywhere. Whether riding on a Spinner(R) bike, road or mountain bike, iSPINNING workouts can also be uploaded to eNewLeaf to add key cardio training and cycling metrics to your online fitness diary.

* iNewLeaf is a cardio fitness system and cycling computer that allows you to incorporate unique metabolic profile data from New Leaf to more precisely track and monitor the right intensity for “real results.” Upload your completed workouts to eNewLeaf to add key cardio training and cycling metrics to your online fitness diary.

* iRPM+ is a cardio fitness system and cycling computer that allows you to track any cardio exercise, anywhere. Upload your completed workouts to eNewLeaf or MapMyFitness to add key cardio training and cycling metrics to your online fitness diary.

The apps are available now, and free for a limited time, on the iPhone App Store. Once downloaded, users can take the apps for a test drive with simulated heart rate data to understand how they monitor and manage cardio fitness. The apps being demonstrated at Macworld Expo will be available in a soon to be released version 2.0 upgrade on the iPhone App Store in the coming days.

“We wanted to make the fitness metric tracking experience cool, fun, simple and custom,” says iTMP CEO & Founder Michael Williams, “we’ve done just that. By leveraging the iPhone’s technology and partnering with leaders in the industry, we are raising the bar in the fitness metrics monitoring space.”

SMHEART LINK will be available for purchase online in the coming days. Until then, users can register for an alert that will notify them when the product is ready to ship. At that time, users will be able to purchase SMHEART LINK by tapping a button that takes them to an online store without ever leaving the app. SMHEART LINK will initially be bundled with SMHEART Sleeve, a flexible, lightweight case that integrates with the heart monitor chest strap, and will be included for an introductory period at 50% off.

ChronoSync 4.0 and ChronoAgent 1.0 for Mac Released

January 6th, 2009

Casselberry, Florida – Econ Technologies updates ChronoSync, the automated synchronization and backup application for Mac(R) OS X, to version 4.0 and releases new companion product ChronoAgent for Mac version 1.0. ChronoSync 4.0 adds many new features, most notably bootable backups, full Admin access, and speedier synchronizations. ChronoAgent for Mac is a brand new utility that runs on the destination Mac and communicates directly with ChronoSync, giving you full root access to the destination Mac.

ChronoSync and ChronoAgent for Mac will run natively on both Power PC and Intel-based Macintosh(R) computers running Panther, Tiger or Leopard. Download and try the demos, or purchase ChronoSync for $40 (USD) and ChronoAgent for Mac for $10 (USD). As always, all existing ChronoSync users update for free by obtaining a new ChronoSync 4 license from our website.

ChronoSync now offers bootable backups. Create a complete copy of your hard drive and boot directly into the backup. Additionally ChronoSync 4 gives you full access to the entire hard drive so any files can be copied. Nothing is off limits. ChronoSync also features a modified “Sync Engine” logic to use less memory and scan files faster, resulting in speedier synchronizations in most cases.

ChronoAgent for Mac is a brand new utility that runs on a destination Mac and communicates directly with ChronoSync. Normally, when you synchronize or back up to another Mac you mount it using file sharing. However, you only have the same access to that Mac as the user you mount as. Thus other user accounts and system files are off limits. ChronoAgent bypasses file sharing, giving you full access to the destination Mac and eliminating the need to mount via AFP, SMB or other protocols.

ChronoAgent can even match Users and Groups of files between two different Macs giving you full preservation of file ownership and permissions. ChronoAgent runs in the background as an invisible application and is controlled in the System Preferences of your Mac. ChronoAgent only communicates with ChronoSync, meaning you need to have ChronoSync 4 in order to communicate with ChronoAgent. ChronoAgent for Mac is a separate purchase and sells for $10. For all the details please visit the ChronoAgent for Mac overview page.

“ChronoAgent is not needed by everyone. Most users can simply activate file sharing on another Mac, mount, and then sync. But if you are having permission problems with your destination Mac or server then ChronoAgent can solve that. If you need to match Users and Groups between two different Macs then ChronoAgent can solve that. You can even create remote bootable backups,” said Joe Japes, Marketing Director of Econ Technologies.

Additionally ChronoSync 4 now offers numerous other enhancements. Templates provide the ability to create Synchronizer and Container documents with customized settings. The Options panel as been redesigned with new features and a new layout. The Setup panel contains a Readiness status which displays any issues between the two Targets being synchronized. The Archive feature now supports file compression saving you disk space. For a complete list of features and fixes read the release notes available online at the econtechnologies website.

ChronoSync is the easy way to synchronize or backup files and folders. Synchronize between folders on your Mac, other Macs, PCs, external drives or anything you can mount on your Mac. Set up a Synchronizer document to schedule and automatically mount volumes so your syncs and backups are never missed. Archive your data and go back in time to restore and view older files. With ChronoSync, you can do a lot more than just copy data, you can manage data, too. Exclude files and folders, check the current sync status of files, even run trial synchronizations to see what will happen before it happens. ChronoSync will run natively on both Power PC (G3, G4, G5) and Intel Macintosh computers running Panther, Tiger or Leopard.

SuperSync 3.03 released – Special MacWorld Discounts Available

January 6th, 2009

Oakland, California – SuperSync has released SuperSync 3.03, an update to their iTunes library manager for Macs, PCs, and iPods. Combining power with simplicity, SuperSync lets users visually compare, merge, and access their media files and playlists from anywhere. MacWorld Expo attendees are invited to visit booth #3526 to see how SuperSync can help keep their music libraries in perfect harmony.

SuperSync makes it easy to create a main library, and have a subset on computers and laptops around the house. By offering an easy way to visually compare and merge multiple iTunes libraries, all music, movies, and playlists can be synced across all devices. Any new content that is added on one computer can be uploaded to the master library.

Use SuperSync to:
* Keep track of all music across multiple computers – Mac OS X, Windows, and iPod
* Compare and merge any two music libraries
* Move music, videos, and playlists from one iTunes library to another
* Export all or a subset of a library as a well-organized directory of tracks
* Find partial albums, duplicates, missing tracks, corrupt files, and other common music library problems
* Intelligently import media from a hard drive, iPod, or network drive without duplicates
* Easily move a music library from Windows to Mac, Mac to Windows, or any combination
* Access a home music library from anywhere – upload/download songs, movies, and playlists
* Share a common library with multiple iTunes users on a network drive
* Access your MP3’s and playlists from Tivo

SuperSync 3.03, and is a free and recommended upgrade for all users. Version 3.03 adds a much improved playlist viewer and synchronizer as well as an improved song table layout with better sorting of unicode characters. SuperSync also improves Tivo server support and allows Tivo Series 2/3 owners to access their music from any Tivo-enabled TV. Improved iPod support lets users intelligently access their music, video, and playlists.

Minimum Requirements:
* Mac OS X Version 10.2.8 Jaguar or later (Leopard Compatible)
* Universal Binary for PowerPC and Intel
* Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP
* 8.3 MB Hard Drive space (50MB free for libraries)
* Java 1.4.2 or later
* Internet connection

How SuperSync Works:
SuperSync starts by reading in a local iTunes library. A second, remote library can then be opened, with tracks color coded by whether they are local (gray), remote (blue), or synchronized (green). A remote library can be a disk or directory of music and videos, an iPod, or another networked SuperSync library.

Once two libraries are loaded, the user selects tracks they want to copy from one library to another. Tracks are added and saved in the correct location in the user’s iTunes library. Once copied to both locations, the tracks turn green marking them as synchronized. Similarly, playlists can be selected and copied from one library to another.

Tracks that have modified meta data can have their tags updated. Ratings and playcounts can also be updated, so if users mark a track as 5 stars in one library, they can also have it updated in any other library.

Special MacWorld Expo Pricing and Availability:
From Tuesday, January 6th through Sunday, January 11th, special MacWorld discounts will be available at the show booth #3526 and online.

* 2-pak $29 (Show special $20)
* 5-pak $39 (Show special $30)

MediaSilo Announces Final Cut Server Integration

January 6th, 2009

Boston, Massachusetts – Expanding its service offering for video/film production professionals, online video management and collaboration leader, MediaSilo is announcing compatibility with Apple’s Final Cut Server solution.

The Final Cut Server (FCS) MediaSilo bridge allows assets to move from one system to another including all associated metadata. Files in FCS can be published online with MediaSilo where content management and review/approval tools are available to generate metadata that is fed back into FCS. Upcoming releases of MediaSilo will also allow subscribers to originate content in MediaSilo and upload media to Final Cut Server automatically.

“Final Cut Server users now have a global extension for collaborative workflow,” said Kai Pradel MediaSilo CEO. “MediaSilo is extending vital workflow and review/approval functionality to the web for users who need enterprise asset management via Final Cut Server. This completes the cycle from editor to producer to client and offers seamless, bi-directional integration into FCS.”

The Final Cut Server integration marks another in a series of innovations from web-based MediaSilo, a pioneer in online video collaboration technology and workflow. The company is currently offering the Final Cut Server bridge beta free of charge on all Hollywood and Enterprise service plans.

“As Final Cut Server gains acceptance in the marketplace, we want to be sure existing MediaSilo clients can transition their workflows seamlessly and affordably” Pradel added.

MediaSilo will offer a public demonstration of it’s FCS integration at the company’s booth during the “Macworld Final Cut Pro User’s Group SuperMeet,” January 7 at Robertson Auditorium in San Francisco. Pricing, plans and offerings are featured on the company’s updated website.
