Izatt offers new iPhone Dev Course in Utah with new evening format

May 27th, 2009

American Fork, UT – Izatt International has announced a new evening format iPhone Developers Course to be held June 23-27, 2009 at the Larry H. Miller (SLCC) Campus in Sandy, UT. Class will be 6-9:30pm Tue-Fri, June 23-26, plus 8:30-5:30pm Saturday, June 27th. This new evening format is designed to serve the working professional without requiring time off work.

Expert iPhone developers representing prominent iPhone development companies such as Izatt International and Pixio will be covering topics ranging from XCode and Interface Builder to the Accelerometer and Core Animation. Price is $1495 (USD); student price is $995.

The iPhone course is being offered in response to an increasing demand for smart phone development skills in Utah’s ‘Silicon Slopes’ technology sector. Plus, many are unable to attend Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in early June, so Izatt is providing an opportunity closer to home.

“As an iPhone application developer, Izatt recognized the need to grow the iPhone app developer skill set in Utah. Rather than reaching outside the state for talent, we elected to offer training in collaboration with other iPhone development shops,” remarked Jason Izatt, CEO of Izatt International. “Our hope is that education opportunities like this will generate increased entrepreneurial activity and keep Utah on the forefront of technology innovation.”

Izatt has been offering such courses since January 2009. These courses have included a 3-day iPhone SDK course, a 2-day 3D iPhone Gaming course, and a 1-day Beginning Objective-C course. Many former students now have apps of their own in the iTunes App Store, have started companies of their own, or have found new employment doing iPhone development.

Information on the iPhone Development Course, including cost, curriculum and pre-requisites can be found on the Izatt International website.

Branchr Advertising Network Releases Developer API

May 27th, 2009

Corby, United Kingdom – Branchr, a relatively new advertising network has today launched their developer API allowing developers multiple ways to interact with Branchr ads and implement them into their applications and services. Branchr Advertising is offering this in addition to their already fast, reliable JavaScript based advertisement code that allows publishers to display ads on their websites and blogs.

The new API offers developers three different ways to implement ads from the Branchr network into their applications using nothing more than their existing Branchr Publishers account. With the API, developers can implement the same beautiful ads that they can on their websites, and earn the same rich pay-per-click royalties.

Placing Branchr ads in the trial versions of applications can be a great way to make money during tough economic times, and putting Branchr ads in free applications can be just as rewarding.

The Branchr API is available for developers to use now, and can be found over at the Branchr website. A free Branchr Publishers account is required to use the API. Unlike some other advertising services that offer APIs Branchr has no API request limit, meaning that if the ads are deployed in a high-impression environment, the API will not stop working.

Mac Support for Data Center USB, I2C, and SPI Analysis Software Released

May 27th, 2009

Sunnyvale, CA – Total Phase is pleased to announce native Mac OS X support for the new Data Center(TM) 3.0 software, the only hardware-based USB, I2C, and SPI protocol analysis software in the industry with true real-time performance and cross platform support for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

This release is a part of Total Phase’s continuing commitment to serve the needs of the Mac developer community. By providing Mac support for its lines of embedded systems development tools, Mac developers have access to powerful and cost-effective USB, I2C, and SPI debugging solutions while working natively in Mac OS X.

True Real-Time Performance:
With LiveDisplay(TM) technology, developers gain instant access to USB, I2C, and SPI bus data. While many solutions claim to have real-time analysis, the LiveDisplay technology shows the actual bus data as it is happening in true real-time, breaking from the traditional capture-download-process model of protocol analysis.

“LiveDisplay is an especially powerful and useful feature in the Data Center 3.0 software,” states Derek Fung, Senior Engineer. “Immediately seeing the USB, I2C, or SPI packets as they happen gives developers unparalleled visibility into the communications on their embedded systems.”

To help manage large streams of incoming data, the LiveFilter(TM) feature allows developers to instantly filter live USB, I2C, and SPI traffic against any number of parameters. Additionally, the LiveSearch(TM) functionality offers a powerful way to quickly locate data of interest in a live capture.

“In this economic climate, it is especially important to improve productivity. Users can filter out extraneous data and pinpoint relevant data quickly with the LiveFilter and LiveSearch features,” Mr. Fung adds. “Problems can be identified faster, saving engineering time and costs. If we can save an engineer a day of debugging, these tools will have paid for themselves.”

About the Beagle Protocol Analyzers:
The Beagle(TM) Protocol Analyzers are the hardware complement to the Data Center Software. These analyzers can non-intrusively capture and display USB, I2C, and SPI serial bus data. Total Phase offers three different bus monitors: the Beagle(TM) USB 480 Protocol Analyzer, a high-speed USB 2.0 monitor, the Beagle(TM) USB 12 Protocol Analyzer, a full-speed USB monitor, and the Beagle(TM) I2C/SPI Protocol Analyzer, which can capture and display I2C and SPI data.

Pricing and Availability:
The Data Center 3.0 software is available immediately as a free download for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X on the Total Phase website. Beagle protocol analyzers are available for purchase online and orders placed before 2 PM PST are usually shipped the same day.

May 27th, 2009

Albuquerque, NM – Stone Design today released a free upgrade to its top-selling Twitter client Twittelator Pro.
