KennettNet releases Clarus 1.5 and Clarus for iPhone – Pet Management

October 30th, 2009

Chicksands, United Kingdom – KennettNet Software Ltd today is proud to announce Clarus 1.5, an update to their pet management solution for Mac OS X, now with a companion iPhone app. Perfect for maintaining insurance and medical records, vet bills, and expense receipts, Clarus was specifically designed to manage a pet’s life and paperwork, all in one convenient, easy-to-use utility. When a pet needs to be rushed to the vet, the last thing a pet owner needs is searching through piles of paperwork for that missing document.

Clarus is fully integrated into the OS X Desktop experience. Important events, such as medication dose due dates, visits to the vet, birthdays and insurance policy renewal dates, are all placed into iCal, allowing the pet owner’s Macintosh and any synced devices to remind them of when these are due. Clarus is fully AppleScriptable too, so all of a pet’s data is fully accessible. Sample scripts are included that demonstrate how to extract all of a pet’s photos into an iPhoto album, import all of a pet’s expenses into Apple Numbers, and more. This makes Clarus a perfect compliment to Apple’s iLife suite.

New in version 1.5 is the ability to sync with Clarus’ companion app, Clarus for iPhone. This allows you to keep all of your pet’s important information with you wherever you go, as well as show off your favourite photos to your friends and family. Clarus for iPhone is available for free from the iTunes App Store.

“Owning a pet is a wonderful experience. However, keeping track of their important paperwork is not” said Daniel Kennett, founder of KennettNet. “You probably have folders full of documents, and your wall calendar is littered with little reminders to give a flea treatment or to go to the vet for a checkup and more. But no matter how organized you are, there’s always that worry that you’ve missed something.”

So they’re always available, all important contacts are stored in Address Book. At any time, pet owners can QuickLook a Clarus document and immediately be given an overview of what’s up and coming for their pet. One of Clarus’s most prolific features is its poster creation and printing support. So if Spot just happens to go missing, printing a bold missing poster that includes his photo and basic details along with contact information with reward takes just seconds.

Feature highlights include:
* Sync with Clarus for iPhone to keep your pet’s details with you wherever you are
* Manage a pet’s life all in one convenient place
* Fully integrated with Address Book, iCal and QuickLook
* Poster printing support
* AppleScriptable

Language Support:
* American English, British English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish

Minimum Requirements:
* Mac OS X Version 10.5 Leopard or later
* Universal Binary for PowerPC and Intel
* 20.0 MB Hard Drive space

Pricing and Availability:
Clarus 1.5 is available for only £15.00 (GBP) for a single machine license, and is a free update for existing customers. Licensing allows more than five contacts, insurance policies, medications and vet visits to each document. A free trial version is available for download. Review licenses for Clarus are available for media review.

ZiggySoft Releases iWeb Valet 2.3.0 – Enhance and Upload iWeb Pages

October 30th, 2009

Rome, Italy – ZiggySoft today announced iWeb Valet 2.3.0, the tool to enhance and upload iWeb pages. As in Apple’s iWeb 09, iWeb Valet gives you the power to add new interactive widgets to your web pages. iWeb valet will only upload files that have changed (or new files). This saves time, because you will avoid, whenever you make a single change in iWeb, to re-upload the entire site. There is also an option to remove the files in the destination when correspondent file is not present in the source directory, in order to save space in your web server, which will provide more room for documents as your site expands.

Feature Highlights:
* Add many powerful widgets to your web pages
* Personalize iWeb page titles by adding a prefix of you choice
* Add a favicon to your iWeb HTML pages
* Add a Hit Counter to your web pages (using Google Analytics, Statcounter or other similar web services).
* Fool spam bots by encoding all email address in your iWeb pages, so that the email couldn’t be picked up by these bots
* Add META tags to provide more information about your webpages and gain a top ranking on crawler-based search engines that support tags
* Perform multiple ‘search and replace’ operations on all html files contents at once; you can easily make changes of simple text chunks as well as html tags and iWeb default naming conventions
* Encode special characters inside your web pages to solve some display anomaly in non-English texts
* Change the maximum size of all JPEG images of your site simultaneously and very quickly
* Apply a fixed compression ratio to all JPEG images of your iWeb site folder, to save space in your web server
* Add to your iWeb site folder other folders and files not managed by iWeb (favicon, programs, documents, etc.)
* Preview your modified pages in a browser at any time; you don’t have to upload it to a web server first. When you preview a page, all browser-related functions should work, including JavaScript behaviors, absolute links, etc
* Work on a temporary copy of your site folder: use iweb valet with Dreamweaver or Golive local sites as well
* Backup/Restore functions to protect your iWeb sites files from accidental data loss.

Changes in version 2.3.0
* By popular user request, now you can choose to have different Meta tags for each page of your website or a unique Meta tagging on all pages
* Added 6 new Meta tags
* New Falling Snow Effect widget
* Some interface improvement

Pricing and Availability:
iWeb Valet 2.3.0 is available now for $25.00 (USD). It supports Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, 10.6.

PlayHaven Helps iPhone Game Developers Turn Games Into Businesses

October 29th, 2009

San Mateo, California – PlayHaven, an online universe of fan communities for games, today launched its innovative platform enabling virtually any iPhone game developer to instantly establish a community presence online and in-game for free. For the first time, developers can now easily claim their game communities to start directly communicating with their fans, while creating word-of-mouth buzz with iPhone gamers everywhere.

“Having passionate fans is the cornerstone of any successful game. For the first time, developers can now offer their fans a destination to share, gather, and interact,” said Raymond Lau, co- founder and CEO of PlayHaven. “We want to be a true partner to game developers who are looking to establish a connection with their fans and form the base of a lasting franchise.”

PlayHaven’s online universe of communities has an aggregated audience across more than 15,000 games in the iPhone App Store. Fans share their passion for the games by creating guides, tips, reviews, and other content. They also eagerly await announcements of new releases from the developers. Any iPhone game developer can simply visit PlayHaven and claim their fan community in seconds.

Today, 20 developers of the most popular games on the iPhone became PlayHaven Charter Partners and have made their communities available within their games. Charter Partners include Minigore, Geared, I Dig It, The Quest, Mouse House 2, SnowFerno, iSamurai, Bobble Surfer, ZombieSmash!, Transylvania, Genius Defense Force, Gang Street Wars, Hopple, Tipoli, Influence, Above and Cell War, to name just a few. Many of these titles have occupied the top spot on Apple’s list of most popular games in the App Store and have collectively reached over 1 million iPhone users.

“Now we have a community where Geared fans can share tips and strategies on the web or straight from the game,” said Bryan Mitchell, the developer behind Geared. “We are already seeing tremendous value in the new online features with nearly one-third of our players entering our community each day.”

A recent survey from AdMob found that 46 percent of iPhone users choose applications based on word-of-mouth recommendations. Yet most iPhone game developers have no way to reach their fans directly to encourage word-of-mouth buzz or even to announce new titles.PlayHaven does what the iPhone App Store does not – create a connection between game developers and their fans. Developers can now rely on their passionate fans to be the rocket fuel that grows the popularity of their games.

PlayHaven

PlayHaven provides an online universe of fan communities around games, giving developers the instant power of community for turning their games into lasting businesses and gamers a new place to gather and engage with each other.
